SyncEdit v3.00
SyncEdit Upgrading Instructions
If you are a SyncEdit/G sysop -
These files need to be replaced from your older version; SYNCEDIT.EXE,
SETUP.EXE, and SYNCEDIT.DOC. After these files have been replaced, you need
to run SETUP.EXE before you run SYNCEDIT.EXE for the first time. This new
version of SyncEdit uses a different format than earlier versions.
If you are a SyncEdit sysop (Synchronet) -
First you must replace the following files with their newer equivalents;
SYNCEDIT.EXE, SETUP.EXE, KEY2CFG.EXE, and SYNCEDIT.DOC. Next, if you're a
registered sysop of SyncEdit, you must determine whether your copy of
SyncEdit uses a SYNCEDIT.KEY file or if it uses a SYNCEDIT.CFG file. If
you're using an older version of SyncEdit that uses a SYNCEDIT.KEY file, then
make sure your KEY2CFG.EXE program is in the same directory as your
SYNCEDIT.KEY file. Type "KEY2CFG" and it will copy your registration
information from SYNCEDIT.KEY into the newer SYNCEDIT.CFG file.
Next, no matter what version of SyncEdit you're running, you need to run
SETUP.EXE first before you run SyncEdit for the first time. Also, be sure
that the top most field in SETUP.EXE contains the correct external directory
information.
Note on new command line --
SyncEdit uses a new command line in this version then it has in the past. To
determine what command line you should use, you can either read the section
titled "Installation" in SYNCEDIT.DOC or you can type "SYNCEDIT /?" from DOS
to get a listing of the new command line options.
